Once again, OENOTELIA 2018, organized together with FOOD EXPO, has given the chance to a significant number of wine traders to find the best Greek wines in a single location and discover the country’s exceptional indigenous varieties.
With the participation of 146 wine and spirits producers from all the regions of Greece and with the presence of thousands of trade visitors, OENOTELIA has been one of the largest wine trade show ever held in Greece! This year, the trade show has grown to more than twice that of last year, covering 2,500 sq. Meters. (compared to 1,150 sq. meters in 2017).
The professionals from tourism, food, and Organized Retail who visited the exhibition had the opportunity to come into contact with countless domestic wines and spirits, and with a huge range of equipment relating to wine as bottling machines, winemaking systems, packaging, labels and wine accessories, vineyard nurseries and consultancy services, etc.
International interest in Greek wines
Similarly, the number of OENOTELIA international buyers increased. Specifically, more than 120 important wine buyers from target markets abroad gave a strong "presence" to the exhibition, while 75 of them joined the hosted buyer program of FOOD EXPO. These buyers came from countries that traditionally support the Greek wine such as America, Russia, China, Australia and Canada and held more than 2.500 b2b meetings with the exhibitors of OENOTELIA!
Successful wine tasting!
Trade visitors of OENOTELIA 2018, were able to know in depth the Greek vineyard, indigenous varieties and modern identity of branded wines from Greece, through the tasting, held at the Wine Tasting Area. Thousands of visitors passed this year by the Wine Tasting Area of OENOTELIA, tasted representative wines from every wine region, by a wide range of varieties and correspondingly wide price range and have received useful information about each one of them, comparing so a total of more than 300 labels from all over Greece!
Targeted seminars for professionals in the industry!
Finally, professionals from the hospitality industry, catering and retail who visited OENOTELIA 2018 had the opportunity to attend its wines seminars held by renowned oenologists and experienced sommelier. The aim of the seminars was to give professionals a complete picture of the Greek vineyard and to inform them of the new trends and the right ways of managing the wine.
